I recently got a few donut pans and I’ve been OBSESSED with making donuts. They’re so much more fun than a cupcake and are so so versatile. This double chocolate donut is super chocolatey and rich, but also not too heavy. It might just rival Dunkin Donuts!

Prep Time: Bake Time:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup gluten free all-purpose flour (with xanthan gum included)
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- pinch of salt
- 1 egg
- 3-4 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup of milk
Icing:
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 3-4 tbsp cocoa powder
- splash of milk
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350 and prep your donut pan (unless silicon, which doesn’t need to be prepped)
- Mix together all dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl
- Once evenly mixed, add in all wet ingredients (except icing ingredients) until smooth
- Put batter into a plastic bag and cut a hole in one of the bottom corners to make a piping bag, and then pipe batter into donut pan (this makes it a lot easier to evenly distribute than using a spoon!)
- Bake for ~11 mins
- While baking, make the icing by mixing powdered sugar and cocoa powder together, and then slowly adding milk a little at a time, to ensure icing gets the right consistency and isn’t too runny
- Allow donuts to cool for 10 mins before adding icing, so it doesn’t melt
